This describes what this website collects, why it collects it, and how to have it removed.

What we collect
Two things, and only when you choose to give them.
- What you submit in a form. The readiness assessment and the builder enquiry collect the answers you enter, including your name, email address, and any phone number, organization, project details or notes you add.
- Analytics, only if you accept it. Analytics cookies are denied by default. Nothing is loaded until you press “Accept analytics” on the banner. If you decline, or simply never choose, no analytics tag runs.
Why we collect it
Form answers are used to produce your readiness result, to reply to you, and to prepare for a conversation about your project. Analytics, where accepted, tells us which pages are used so we can improve them.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Where it goes
Submissions are delivered by email through Emailit, our transactional email provider — one message to us, and a copy of your result to you. Website hosting and delivery involve standard server logs kept by our hosting provider.
If you accept analytics, data is processed by Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager under Google’s consent mode. Advertising, personalisation and analytics storage all remain denied until you accept.
What not to send us
Please never send passwords, alarm codes, door codes, access credentials or private camera footage — through a form, by email, or in a call. We do not need them to plan a system. If a live system genuinely has to be inspected, we arrange access properly and in person.
Cookies and local storage
Your consent choice is stored in your browser’s local storage under the key
hs-consent so we do not ask you again on every page. It stays on your device.
Clearing your browser data removes it and the banner returns.
If you accept analytics, Google’s cookies are set at that point and not before.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and assessment results are kept for as long as we are in contact about your project and for our ordinary business records afterwards. If you ask us to delete them, we will.
Your choices
- Change your analytics choice at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@housesmart.ca.
- Ask us to stop contacting you, and we will stop.
